What and How Not To Eat If You Want To Stay Looking Young!!
So organic pillow hugger!! You are getting your beauty
sleep, drinking plenty of filtered water, and getting the excercise in, so are
you doing everything possible?
Nutrition, not age,
determines the body’s internal chemistry, and that chemistry determines, in
large part, the quality and resiliency of virtually every organ, cell and
system in the body. If your diet is poor and
missing essential nutrients, then it doesn't matter what else you do, your body
will age beyond its years.
In our next
article we will discuss what you should eat, but in this one we'll just give you
a quick heads up on some foods that speed up aging. Just to note though, the
odd bad food isn't going to make a huge differenbce, but it's daily habits that
can stack up and cause problems.
1. Cut out
Transfats
Transfats in
fast foods and supermarket processed food is a huge offender. It acts in the
body by increasing inflammation, and damaging your chromosomes, at the same
time it reduces cell to cell communication which is bad news for your body.
Being a man made molecule it is unantural to the body and causes enormous
damage. Try to cut out anything that says it has hydrogenated ingerdients in
it. 2. Highly Refined Sugar
Its not easy when you're a cake lover like me, but sucrose and higly refined sugars actually cut down your bodies ability to repair itself. High levels of sugar cause glycosolation within the body, this is when sugar molecules start interfering with protein molecules and a multitude of problems such as oxidative stress occur. Unfortunately when one thing like this starts happening in the body, a multitude of oither effects can begin which are like hitting the fast forward button on aging; hearing damage, vision damage, catracts, heart complaints are all a result. Trade refined sugars for natural sugars wherever possible, honey, maple syrup, agave nectar, but not artificial sweeteners, as they do more damage than even the most refined sugars!
3. Refined Starcy Foods
Highly refined
carbs, are things like white bread, white pasta, white rice, any carbs that
have their wholeness stripped away from them. Eating carbs like these are the
same as eating high sugar foods, they massively increase your insulin level in
the body as your body rushes to digest them, and then you'll feel hungry again
30mins later. This can lead to type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome and heart
disease. Instead stick to whole grains and legumes and veg. Much better for
you.
When you are
really hungry, your body releases a hormone called Ghrelin which urges your
body to go out and stuff itself with food!!! So the result is that you over
eat, as it takes 30mins for the hormone to switch off once you've started to
eat. By that time you've already gorged yourself on too much food. Eat
regularily and healthily, don't wait to be hungry.
5. Eating When
You're StressedCortisol in produced by your body under stress and directs the blood supply away from your stomach to deal with your stressful situation. In the meantime your food does not properly digest and ferments in your gut instead, also resulting in un wanted metabolites being absorbed into your bloodstream. Stress also disrupts the acidity level in your gut, making it less able to absorb vital nutrients such as vitamin B12. Cortisol also stops the body repairing itself, so all in all, stress and eating don't go together. Make sure you are relaxed when you eat, not rushing around or anxious.
So to sum up, how you eat is as important as what you eat. More about this to come in following weeks, but in the meantime, stick to a whole food natural diet for ultimate health.

Organic Cot Duvets for Children Over 12mths
Organic Cot Duvets are a great investment for babies whern they reach 12months of age. Before 12mths of age, babies should sleep in their cot with an organic cotton or wool blanket only and no pillow. But after 12mths, you can begin introducing an adjustable organic child pillow and also an organic cot duvet.
Both an organic cotton cot duvet or an organic wool cot duvet provides an excellent nights sleep, without the fear of baby being exposed to any chemicals that are traditionally present in high street duvets. Chemicals that are nasty for your child, may include fire retardants, polyfoam based polyester fills which are plastic based and off gas over time.
Wool is a particularily beneficial fibre to have in an organic cot duvet as wool has been clinically proven to increase your REM sleep which is the most restorative part of your sleep cycle. Wool is also dustmite repellant due to its high lanolin content.
However, if your child suffers from allergies to animal hair, the organic cotton cot duvet is an excellent choice, as it gives your child all the security of chemical free sleep, coupled with excellent temperature regulation. You can also wash this duvet at high temperatures on a spin free cycle, that allows dustmites to be eradicated.
Our organic cot duvets are the finest quality. Made with a very high grade of organic cotton for duvets, which is rich and silky, the stitching is also of superior quality, as are the organic fillings which are mechanically cleaned and protected from any chemical exposure. All our duvets and beddings are ECO TEST certified organic for complete peace of mind.
An essential investment for any family raising their children in a healthy as possible environment.

What Is a Real Natural Latex Mattress?
Many
people talk about the benefits of a natural latex mattress but few really know
what one is , and the difference between what is genuinely natural and what is just
really synthetic latex labelled as
natural.
Well here's
a quick heads up on what a 'Latex Mattress' is.
Latex is
the solid form of rubber milk that comes from the Hevea Brasiliensis (rubber)
tree which are mainly grown in South East Asia, our Latex comes from Sri lanka
and has been certified as Organic. When untampered with, it remains 100% pure
and is just basically a biological plant based material. It is both biodegradable
and recyclable, as well as being mould, mildew and dust mite resistant. Its
flammability is low and it has no off gassing associated with it. Unlike synthetic
latex however, it is more costly to produce than petroleum based foams, and
thus is only used in its pure form by specialist organic furniture companies. Real
Natural Latex mattresses can be made via the dunlop method or Talalay, but the
Talalay method allows chemical additives to be added more easily. Some pure
natural latex has been produced via the Talalay method of production, but its
more expensive. In order to keep a real natural latex mattress pure, fire retardant
chemicals are not added to it, and only wool or sometimes natural graphite would
be used to non-toxically and non-chemically meet fire safety regs. We only use pure
100% clean dunlop latex with wool at buyOrganics.
What Is Synthetic Latex?
Most high street furniture manufacturers, like
to play around with the latex due to its cost, and add various chemicals to
cheapen it, so that less of the more
expensive rubber is used and more fillers, these may include polyurethane in
the form of polyurethane foam (petrochemical
based) which is what most furniture is made from. Poly foam contains 2 main
ingredients polyols (such as Propylene oxide) and diisocyanates ( such as Toluene diisocyanate ). Both of these have been proven to
cause mammary tumours. Toluene is also a neurotoxin which off gases over time as
the mattress breaks down releasing chemicals into the air and into normal house
dust. Poly foam is also highly flammable
and requires that fire retardant chemicals be added to the foam also to make it
more fire safe. Another additive commonly used is styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR). The
chemical styrene is toxic to the lungs, liver, and brain. Synthetic additives
have to be further added to stabilize it. Most synthetic latex mattresses
contain a combination, so either 70% natural latex and 30% SBR or natural latex
and polyfoam. But manufacturers can call it natural. You have to digg below the
surface if you want to know if its real!
Is A Real Natural Latex Mattress Worth the Money?
If your
health is important to you then A 100% pure natural latex mattress is
definitely worth the investment, as it will not off gas or breakdown, creating
toxic house dust. It will be comfy and supportive and the best sleeping
experience ever, whilst also not exposing you to daily and nightly dangers and
long term illness.
